Introduce yourself in our #introductions channel and start interacting with our community. Our communications happen mainly through Slack, where we have many channels to talk about our community, organize initiatives, share achievements and worries, recipes, well-being ideas, scholarships and job opportunities, and much more!<\/p>

For 5 years Conversando con GeoLatinas <\/strong>has been providing a space for our members to improve their conversational Spanish & English Skills. This is an initiative of the Professional and Personal Development Committee for Spanish & English speakers at all levels.<\/span>

Geotraductores<\/b>\u00a0is a joint initiative of GeoLatinas, Planeteando<\/a>, and Eos<\/a>, to translate, edit and publish a wide range of science news articles to Spanish and published by Eos en Espa\u00f1ol.<\/i> Our members benefit by strengthening their science communication and reading\/writing skills. This initiative has been democratizing science communication for Latin America since 2020 “one translation at a time”.<\/em><\/span><\/p>

PERLA is our “Professional Exchange for Resilience Leadership and Advancement”<\/strong> intiative. Here GeoLatinas professional power-houses present discussions on work-life balance, career skills and professional advice. Members have the opportunity to interact with professional from different fields and at different career stages, acquiring new tools to advance in their careers.<\/span><\/p>

In May 2020, we launched our Dry Runs and Peer Review initiative, <\/strong>facilitating our members a friendly and safe place to receive feedback on their presentations, writing pieces, curriculums, and more. It is a learning experience for everyone involved allowing them to strengthen their communication skills.<\/span><\/p>

We are so proud of our GeoLatinas coding group<\/strong>! This space allows our members to connect virtually and learn about code. The organizers designed basic Python lessons and have a channel where you can leave any coding-related questions you may have! This has been a great learning opportunity for everyone involved and motivates our members to take their first steps in programming!<\/span><\/p>\n
