The Leadership council (GLC) is the core of GeoLatinas. These members participate and create initiatives. You can be a GeoLatinas leader if:

  • You have an idea for an initiative and want to lead a team!
  • You would like to enhance your leadership skills by working on existing committees you are interested in.

Requirements: anyone can be a leader and/or volunteer of the GLC. However, we prioritize Latinas in leadership roles and, by default, make space for all other minoritized individuals.

The GeoLatinas Local Teams (GLT) are a group of people in a particular University or workplace. To be part of a GLT you can:

  • Start a new GLT in your university or city and create your own events and initiatives.
  • Join an existing GLT you are interested in joining.

Requirements: we only ask that within 6 months of formed, 50% of the leadership (not membership) is made of Latinas in Earth and Planetary Sciences.

The GeoLatinas Ambassadors (GA) represent their regions, help identify needs/issues in their communities, and organize local events, etc. This is a good place to start! You can be a GeoLatina Ambassador if:

  • You are interested in spreading our message and mission to your circle
  • You want to be part of GeoLatinas to explore what you are most interested in.

Requirements: ambassadors must be Latina in Earth and Planetary Sciences.
